Creating an account is optional — the core checking functionality is available without registration. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that contain false information or that are used to violate these Terms.
When you submit a scam report or other content to Scampede, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, display, and distribute that content as part of the Service. This includes publishing approved reports in our public database.
You represent that any content you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge and does not violate any third-party rights. We are not responsible for the accuracy of user-submitted content, though we review reports before publishing them.
If you believe a report about your business is inaccurate, please contact us at reports@scampede.com with supporting evidence and we will investigate promptly.
The Scampede name, logo, website design, and original content (including blog articles, guides, and scam type pages) are our intellectual property and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without our written permission.
Our detection database includes data from public sources including PhishTank, ScamSniffer, and the CFPB Consumer Complaint Database. Attribution and licences for these sources are respected in accordance with their respective terms.
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. These links are provided for convenience only. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scampede shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to financial loss arising from reliance on our scam detection results.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which for free users is zero).
